Finals Week.....

On college campus', during the week of finals, the dorms have set "quiet hours" so that people can study without being disturbed. Tradition has it that on the last night of finals at 12:00am everyone opens their windows and screams for exactly one minute.

On most campuses you can hear someone tell the story that one year, between 12:00 and 12:01am, a girl was brutally raped and murdered and no one heard her scream for help because of the traditional racket put on by the rest of the student body.

Now, according to the story, any one who screams during finals week will be expelled from the school.

haunted gym.....

There is a ghost who haunts Charles Page High School in Sand Springs, OK

40 years ago, there was some construction being done in the gymnasium of the High School. There was an accident and the roof collapsed. One of the workers fell 60 feet through the ceiling and died that tragic day.

The spirit of this worker haunts the school and has been the cause of a high turnover in the janitorial staff. Custodians come and go, many quit when they encounter the spirit who makes his appearances mostly in the school gymnasium, where he fell.

There is a soft, indented spot, on the gym floor where the man fell. .They say strange sounds can be heard when the spirit is around, like doors opening and closing and locking by themselves. Basketballs can be heard bouncing on the floor, when there aren’t any around and voices seem to be coming from the musty air in the gym.

haunted school....

There is this school called "The Institute That Must Not Be Named" (a real school, and hey we don't want to get sued here) that is in Danvers Massachusetts. Legend has it that it was actually built right over the real place where they buried the witches who were killed in the Salem witch trials. It used to be a part of Olde Salem. It is a school for people studying to be vets, plant nursery workers, etc., so there are a lot of animals and plants there.

A lot of strange things happen and a lot of people get hurt. Animals will get spooked by something no one else can see. People will be working with a plant and then it looks as though someone has stepped on it when no one else is there. People have also said they have been walking in a really warm spot and then it just get's cold. And people have seen things...like balls of light floating around in dark areas, doors that fly open even if they are locked, windows that open and shut and the blinds on the windows that have been pulled have been known to come flying up.

The worst thing that happened was when one of the students, he was a Senior, was standing alone near the window on the third floor of the building. Suddenly he started screaming "Leave me alone! I didnt do anything wrong! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!!"

A teacher ran out of a nearby classroom and saw him swing his fists at the air, and then it seemed as though he was lifted up off of the floor and he went flying out the window. He didn't survive the fall and the doctors had said he died before he had hit the ground.

The teacher claims that in the moments she witnessed, she saw a reddish flash out or the corner of her eye, but when she looked directly towards the source of the light, nothing was there.

No other strange deaths have occured here, but weird things still happen. Now there is a mental house, and a police station, IN the school.

keep the lights off.....

Two college roommates were complete opposites, one liked to study while the other liked to party. In preparation for their upcoming midterms, the studious roommate (Jane) planned a Friday night of studying while the partier (Mary) decided to go to a frat party.

The two were friends, regardless of their differences, and while Mary got ready for the party, she tried to get Jane to go. Jane insisted on studying and Mary set out for the party. Jane agreed to leave the door unlocked, so that Mary wouldn't have to bring her keys.

While Mary was at the party, she met up with another group of friends and they convinced Mary to stay at their place for the night. Mary agreed but had to stop back at her room to get her keys. It was about 2 a.m. when Mary got back. She snuck in and grabbed her keys, leaving the lights off, not wanting to wake her roommate.

The next morning Mary walked home, intent to ask Jane for some study help. When she reached her room and opened the door she saw Jane murdered at her desk! Written on the wall in Jane's blood was "Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?"

bloody mary.....

A long time ago there was a little girl named Mary. She grew very ill and fell into a deep coma. The local doctor was old and feeble and without knowing any better, he believed she was dead. He informed the family and they had a funeral and buried the poor girl alive! Mary’s family lived very close to the graveyard where she was laid to rest. The first night, Mary’s mother thought that she heard a scream coming from Mary's grave, but no one believed her. Days later, Mary's mother convinced the family to dig up her grave. When they did, they found Mary dead, but they also saw scratches on the top of the coffin and Mary's fingernails were bloody from her efforts to escape the grave.

Now if you follow these instructions, you may be able to see Mary for yourself. At midnight on Friday the 13th, turn off all the lights in your house. Go to the bathroom and turn on the water in the shower and the sink. Flush the toilet, look into the mirror and say “Bloody Mary” 5 times. She will appear in mirror. You need to hurry and turn on the light or she will stab you in the back.

The Candy Man.....

The story is that if you look at a mirror in your bathroom with the lights turned of and repeat candyman five times you see a red glow shaped like a pair of eyes. When you see it, turn the lights on immediately and run to the brightest spot in your house or he will come to kill you.

Lady in White

If you go in the bathroom turn around 5 times and say "Lady in White" then turn around the other way and say something you miss that is dead. you'll see the thing you miss in the mirror but all the lights have to be off and you can not do it with any friends only by yourself.

Babysitting is a Dangerous Job....

A young couple went out to dinner one evening and left the baby-sitter in charge of their two children. The children had been put to bed and the baby-sitter was watching the television when the phone rang. She answered but all she heard was a man laughing hysterically and then a voice saying, "I'm upstairs with the children, you'd better come up." Thinking it was "one of those prank phone calls" or a practical joke she slammed down the receiver and turned the television sound up.

A short time later the phone rang again and, as she picked it up, the unmistakable hysterical laughter came down the line and the voice once again said "I'm upstairs with the children, you'd better come up." Getting rather frightened she called the operator and was advised they would notify the police and, should he phone again, could she keep him talking in order to give them time to trace the call and have him arrested.

Minutes after she replaced the receiver the phone rang again and, when the voice said, "I'm upstairs with the children, you'd better come up," she tried to keep him talking. However, he must have guessed what she was trying to do and he put the phone down.

Only seconds later the phone rang again, this time it was the operator who said, "Get out of the house straight away, the man is on the extension." The baby-sitter put down the phone and just then heard someone coming down the stairs. She fled from the house and ran straight into the arms of the police. They burst into the house and found a man brandishing a large butcher's knife. He had entered the house through an upstairs window, murdered both the children and was just about to do the same to the poor baby-sitter.

Clown Statue....

This girl was babysitting for some family friends one night, a little boy and a little girl. The parents had a fetish for clowns and had collected clowns from around the world for years, setting aside a room in the house just to put them on display. That night, the children were playing in this very room. Many of the clowns were just statues, and some were life-size, one in particular, was seated in a small child-like rocking chair.

The babysitter started to feel more and more uneasy about this statue throughout the night. She felt as though the eyes were following her, whenever she moved around the room with the children. She decided to call the parents. "I'm so sorry to bother you", she said, "but I was wondering if I could move this clown that you have in the rocking chair, it’s starting to scare the kids and I."

"What clown are you referring to? I don’t recall us having a clown fitting that description. Are you sure its sitting in the rocking chair?" the mother asked hurriedly.

"Yes, I’m sure.” said the girl. "It’s sitting right here, I’m looking at it right now...Why? I know it's probably very old and I shouldn't attempt to move it out of the way, but."

"Take the kids and get out of the house, now. The neighbor across the street will let you in. Call me immediately when you get there." and with that, the mother hung up.

Frightened and confused, the babysitter grabbed the kids and ran out. When she and the kids arrived safely at the neighbors, she called and the mother answered. "What's wrong? Did something happen? Are you all okay?" the girl asked.

"Yes, we are fine, but its not us we are worried about, its you and the kids. I’m so glad you called--we were afraid this would happen again. We will be there shortly along with the police, I’ll explain everything when we get there", and the mother hung up.

The parents later explained to the girl that for some time, the next-door neighbor had been giving them problems. He was mentally ill, heard voices, the whole bit. On numerous occasions he had snuck into their house and tried to kidnap the children. This time, he dressed up in a clown suit, painted his face, and waited quietly until he had the opportunity to do what he came to do.

The parents had informed the police many times but never had any proof until now about what was happening. They thanked the girl, paid her, and drove her home.

Frightened and Fearless....

There are two girls and one is spending the night at the other's house for one full weekend. One is totally fearless and the other frightens when you tap her on the shoulder - lets call them Marie and Sandra (Sandra is the fearless one and Marie is the wimp).

They sleepover at Sandra's house. Sandra has a million horror movies but because Marie is scared of seeing gore they decide to tell each other ghost stories. Sandra is the expert on any type of frightening story and she really wants to scare Marie. She tells her stories of babysitters hacked to death, children eaten alive and all sorts of terrible happenings.

By now they have consumed a lot of water and popcorn so after her last story Sandra excuses herself to the bathroom. Minutes passed and all Marie could think of were the stories she had just heard. When Marie heard no running water she began to worry.

Logically thinking that Sandra was playing an elaborate joke, Marie waited again. Sandras phone rang and Marie jumped. The phone rang again and again so she assmumed that Sandra was unable to answer it so Marie picked it up. "Hello?" she said nervously. All she heard was breathing at the other end then a click.

Marie began to panic. She climbed into Sandras bed and put the covers over her head. When she finally heard the scuffling of feet she assumed they were Sandra's but the shuffling passed by the door and did not pause. Marie was too frightened to call out Sandras name so she waited. Eventually she heard the feet again but they seemed very far away. Then a scream let out across the house.

Marie was very shaken now. She wasn't sure if it was Sandra messing with her head or if someone was really going through the house. Marie finally mustered up the courage and began to wander around the vast house. All the lights were out except for the glowing of Sandras room light and the light of the moon outside.

Marie began to inch down the hallway praying that this was some giant hoax. Finally she turned a corner and saw Sandra sitting at the end of the hall. Her pajamas were red and she seemed to be leaning against the wall. Marie sighed. The fear was gone. She knew it was just Sandra messing with her head.

She flicked on the nearest light switch and to her horror Sandra was kneeling against the wall but she was covered in blood, her eyes were gouged out, and her stomach was ripped open. Marie let out a terrified scream as she read the words painted in Sandras own blood over her mutilated corpse. "She became her own Urban Legend"

The One That Got Away....

A boy and his sister had to stay home alone one night. Their parents were out at a fancy party for their father’s job and they warned the children not to open the door for anyone under any circumstances.

The children were distracted by TV and weren’t paying attention to their parent’s warning. About couple of hours later the children were both in bed asleep when they were woken up by a knock at the door.

The knock came again and they began to think it must be an emergency so the sister went to answer the door.

Her brother lay awake on his bed, listening for her to come back to her room – but he didn’t hear her return. He got nervous and decided to wait for his parents to get home at the neighbor’s house. He got out of bed and headed out the back door, down the side of the house and across his neighbor’s lawn.

They told him they were glad to see him because they had just heard on the news that there was an escaped murderer on the lose and he was last seen just a few blocks away.

When his parent’s came home much later that night, they found his sister’s body dead by the front door and a discarded knife on the brother’s bed.

Human's Can Lick Too....

Once there was a beautiful young girl who lived in a small town just south of Farmersburg. Her parents had to go to town for a while, so they left their daughter home alone, but protected by her dog, which was a very large collie. The parents told the girl to lock all the windows and doors after they had left. And at about 8:00pm the parents went to town. So doing what she was told the girl shut and locked evey window and every door. But there was one window in the basement that would not close completely.

Trying as best as she could she finally got the window shut, but it would not lock. So she left the window, and went back upstairs. But just to make sure that no one could get in, she put the dead-bolt lock on the basment door.

Then she sat down had some dinner and decided to go to sleep for the night. Settling down to sleep at about 12:00 she snuggled up with the dog and fell asleep.

But at one point, she suddenly woke up. She turned and looked at the clock...it was 2:30. She snuggled down again wondering what had woken her.....when she heard a noise. It was a dripping sound. She thought that she had left the water running, and now it was dripping into the drain of her sink. So thinking it was no big deal she decided to go back to sleep.

But she felt nervous so she reached her hand over the edge of her bed, and let the dog lick her hand to feel safe, knowing he would protect her. Again at about 3:45 she woke up hearing dripping. She was slightly angry now but went back to sleep anyway. Again she reached down and let the dog lick her hand. Then she fell back to sleep.

At 6:52 the girl decided that she had had enough...she got up just in time to see her parents were pulling up to the house. "Good,"she thought. "Now somebody can fix the sink...'cause I know I didn't leave it running." She walked to the bathroom and there was the collie dog, skinned and hung up on the curtain rod. The noise she heard was its blood dripping into a puddle on the floor. The girl screamed and ran to her bedroom to get a weapon, in case someone was still in the house.....and there on the floor, next to her bed she saw a small note, written in blood, saying: HUMANS CAN LICK TOO MY BEAUTIFUL.

Jigsaw Mystery....

There was an old lady who lived on her own in a very foggy part of Dartmoor. She had lived alone for fifteen years, ever since her husband had died in a mysterious car accident. However, the car accidenet is not my present purpose on which to dwell. You see, this old lady had a passion for jigsaw puzzles, it probably came with the stigma of being alone for she had no family or friends and lived in a very secluded spot. Every night she would sit at her dining room table and work on her current jigsaw puzzle until it was finished, then she would start a new one.

However, there came a night, a rugged, windy, stormy winter night when she ran out of jigsaw puzzles. She was extremely upset as she had nothing else to do (this was in the days before TV and her radio had no signal in so removed a place). She was just thinking of going up to bed earlier than usual when she heard a thud, as if something had fallen onto the mat from the mail flap.

Intruiged, the old lady hobbled downstairs to find a rectangular parcel had been put through the door and now lay, invitingly, on the mat. She picked it up, carried it upstairs to her dining table and opened it to reveal a new jigsaw puzzle! It had no picture of what it made up on the front but the old lady didn't care. Neither did she care who had sent it, she was just so happy to have another puzzle to do.

It took her about an hour to complete it but as she began the get the entire picture her consternation grew for she saw that the picture being made up was that of the very room in which she now sat. Then, she gasped, for she realised that the woman sitting at the table in the picture with her back to the window was a picture of her!!! Her fingers tremeled as she placed the last four pieces of the puzzle to reveal a picture of a crazed madman at the window staring into the room, holding an axe!

The last thing that old lady ever heard was the sound of breaking glass...

Trace the Call....

One night a babysitter was looking after a child in a nice neighbor hood in the suburbs. The boy was asleep upstairs and she was watching some TV when the phone rang. The girl answered it, but she only heard breathing on the other end of the line so she hung. The stranger called again and again without saying anything, just breathing into the phone. The babysitter began to get frightened.

She called the police and told them what was going on and the police said, "Hang up the phone and the next time we will trace the call."

She hung up and the heavy breather called again. She slammed the phone down and almost immediately it rang again. This time it was the police – they informed her that the call was originating from the same house.

She ran upstairs to check on the boy and found a man holding him with a knife under his chin. The police arrived in time and quickly arrested him.

Reflection....

One cold winter’s night sixteen year old Katie was home alone. Her parents had gone out to a dinner party. It had been snowing all that afternoon, but had just recently stopped. After studying for a few hours she decides to relax a little.

She makes some popcorn, gets a nice thick blanket and lays back on the lounge to watch some TV. In their lounge room, the TV is positioned in front of the glass sliding door that leads to a patio and the back yard. By midnight Katie’s parents still aren’t home and she is suddenly griped with fear because she caught a glimpse of a very strange looking man staring at her standing outside the glass door behind the television set.

Terrified, she panics and pulls the blanket up over her head and grabs the cordless phone that is by her side. Katie calls the police, and as luck would have it, there was a patrol car not far from her house. In a few minutes police are on the scene and Katie tells them about the strange man standing outside, staring in through the glass.

The police open the glass sliding door and look around. After a few moments they turn around and explain to her that there could not have been anyone standing out there, as there would be footprints in the snow. The cops tell her that she is probably just tired and her imagination had got the better of her. Katie is a little relieved, but still a little shaken.

As the police officers are about to leave, one of them stops and looks behind the lounge Katie is sitting on. His jaw drops and skin goes pale. Katie notices the man’s reaction and jumps up to look too. She sees what made the officer react that way. There were wet footprints on the carpet behind the lounge. She hadn’t seen the man outside the door, she’d seen his reflection when he was standing behind her.

Movie Tickets....

A man and his wife went out for the night with friends who picked them up at their house. They left their new Mercedes Benz parked outside. When they came home they realized that their new car had disappeared.

They called the police to report the theft and searched fruitlessly for the rest of the night. Devastated by their loss, they went home and went to sleep.

The next morning, they woke up to see their car parked outside their home, just the way they left it the night before. A note was on the windshield explaining that a man and his wife needed it so they could drive to the local hospital. The grateful and influential man left tickets for the couple to go to a movie premier in the city the next night.

The couple was thrilled to have their car back and excited to go to the premier. They dressed up and attend the movie the next night. When they got home from the event they found that their home had been robbed and all of their belongings were gone. All they had left was the car they thought they lost the night before. The shocked couple searched the house and found a note saying: HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE MOVIE!

Abigail Come Play....

A little girl named Abigail who lived in Plymouth, Massachusetts was brutally murdered back in the 1800's. Her father was a fisherman and was away a lot of the time. Abigail never had a good relationship with her mother, but when he father left things got much worse and her mother became very abusive. Abigail always feared her father leaving because she was afraid of what her mother might do.

A few years went by when one day her fears became a reality when her father didn't return from one of his fishing trips. Abigail's mother blamed the poor girl for her father's dissappearance and took her anger out on the child. One night, in a fit of rage, she stabbed the little girl and murdered her.

Legend has it that if you stand in the street in front of Abigail's house and say "Abigail, Come Out to Play" you will see the figure of the little girl standing in the window looking towards the water for her fathers ship to return.

The Amityville Horror....

Everybody in Amityville knows about the house on Ocean Ave. Was it real or a hoax? Most people seem to think that it was just a hoax, but most famous paranormal investigators still maintain the house is haunted by an evil presense.

In November 1974, Ronald DeFeo murdered his entire family, shooting them all with a .35 Marlin Rifle. According to DeFeo he was being controlled by evil spirits and heard voices. He was sentenced to six life sentences. A year later Kathy and George Lutz moved in. They moved out after a month. They made incredible claims of black ooze coming from toilets, doors blown off hinges, unexplained teeth marks, a pit to hell in the basement, and of course the bleeding walls. It was a little too sensational for most people to believe.

But there were some remarkable things that did have some truth. Goerge Lutz did look very much like Ronald DeFeo. So much it is literally scary. The stories that the Lutz's told sounded like previous cases of demonic possession, but many claimed they were just rumors.

The stories spawned numerous books, movies, and a cult following. There are stories about the property being built on Indian Burial grounds, an Indian sanitarium, or even a supposed witch living on the property from Salem Massachusetts. None of the claims have been proven.

Recently the house has been occupied by new owners, they have reported nothing unusual.

graveyard eyes....

In Cape Girardeau, Missouri, there is a mysterious graveyard where college students in the late 70's used to go there to drink and fool around. Late one October night while I was a student, a group friends convinced me to go to the graveyard to "see the eyes". I was scared to death, but with a couple of beers and a lot of coercing, I went along.

As we neared the area where the eyes were seen previously, I saw nothing. I began to laugh at what fools my friends were and how silly I was to be so scared.

One of the guys needed a "pit stop", so we pulled over and he stepped to the side of the car to take care of business. Wanting to be discrete, I looked in the other direction and about 100 feet away in the graveyard, were bright green glowing eyes levitating at about 6 feet above the ground.

I screamed and pointed and the fellow jumped back in the car as we raced out of the graveyard, all of us watching behind us until we could no longer see the green eyes. When we were back on the lighted streets of town, we laughed at how silly we were, and vowed to go again to see if we would see the eyes again...but later, my girlfriends and I vowed to never return to the graveyard again.

La Llorana....

In the early 1500's, La Llorana was the prettiest girl in a small town somewhere in Texas. Every man in town wanted to marry her but there was one lucky man she hoped to marry. He befriended the family and courted her for a few years before they were married. In 3 years of marriage they had two sons.

One day before the oldest boys birthday, La Llorana’s husband went out to "buy a present.” He said goodbye to his wife and children and left for town. He was never seen again. There were rumors in town saying that he had left his wife for a young mistress. Some say that he was murdered, but no one ever knew the true reason why he left his family.

Eventually, she got over the abandonment, and had her heart set on a rich farmer. They soon fell in love. She told her lover that she wanted to get married, but he said they could not. She was in shock, and asked him why, but he would not answer. Later, he confessed that he could not marry her because of her sons.

She was so furious she ran all the way home. She told her boys that they were going to go and take a bath down at the river. The boys slowly entered the shallow part of the Rio Grande, but she had other plans. She told the boys that they were now old enough to go in the deep end, and so they did. As she pretended to wash their hair she firmly pressed on their heads and pushed them under water, she didn’t let go till they were dead.

After watching the lifeless bodies of her precious sons float away down the river, she ran to her lover’s house and explained what she had done. He couldn’t believe it and was disgusted by her actions. He declared that he couldn’t love a murderer and told her never to come to his house again.

Suddenly, she realized what she had just done to her family. She ran back to the river and wept at the bank. She stayed there and wept and did not eat or drink or sleep until she finally died.

Her soul now walks the rivers edge weeping and looking for her precious sons.

Newsted Abby....

At around 10 pm one stormy night, the last bus form Nottingham to Mansfield stopped outside Newsted Abby, a widely known haunted place in the UK. It was raining heavily and the driver almost missed the man who was waiting at the stop as this was the first time in many years a person had been picked up at this stage of the route. The man got on the bus and walked up to the top deck without saying a word.

The driver woke the conductor who had fallen asleep to go serve the man with a ticket. The groggy man noticed the bad weather outside and a lack of wet foot prints on the bus floor he asked the driver if he was joking. After a short disagreement on the matter, the conductor went up to find the man, only to discover the top deck was empty. The annoyed conductor stormed down to tell the driver that he was not in the mood for jokes. The driver argued that he was telling the truth, and the argument got so intense that the driver stopped the bus. As he turned to face the conductor and continue the heated discussion, the man came down the stairs and began to walk towards them.

"I told you," the driver said to the conductor, then he turned his attention to the man and said "Sorry mate, but this isn’t the bus stop."

The man continued past them and stood at the door without saying a word. The driver, once again, tried to inform the silent passenger that this was not a bus stop, but the man just stood at the door and didn’t speak. The conductor began to realize that something creepy was happening and reached over to the driver’s controls to open the door.

The quiet man walked out into the rain and as he disappeared into the night, just then the driver and conductor realized that somehow they were once again outside Newsted Abby.

Resurrection Mary....

Most researchers agree that the most accurate version of the story concerns a young girl who was killed while hitchhiking down Archer Avenue in the early 1930’s. Apparently, she had spent the evening dancing with a boyfriend at the O Henry Ballroom. At some point, they got into an argument and Mary (as she has come to be called) stormed out of the place. Even though it was a cold winter’s night, she thought, she would rather face a cold walk home than another minute with her boorish lover.

She left the ballroom and started walking up Archer Avenue. She had not gotten very far when she was struck and killed by a passing automobile. The driver fled the scene and Mary was left there to die.

Her grieving parents buried her in Resurrection Cemetery, wearing a white dress and her dancing shoes. Since that time, her spirit has been seen along Archer Avenue, perhaps trying to return to her grave after one last night among the living.

Shades of Death Road....

Legend has it, that many years ago, a car of teenagers were driving down a country road in Hacketsttown after the prom. Due to the windy nature of the path, and slippery conditions, the car crashed into a ditch and a girl, still in her prom dress, died. To this day, you can still see her wandering the curve that she was murdered on wearing her dress.

The road is actually named, "Shades of Death Road" and is located towards Great Meadows by Jenny Jump State Park and Ghost Lake (A highly haunted area). The road is very windy and tales tells that if you, as an unsuspecting teenager, drive too fast down Shades of Death Road, the ghost of the dead girl will present herself to you, there by forcing you into a firey death as well - perhaps a warning to others?

Part of the story also includes this tid bit: Every section of the road that contains a reflective guardrail is where someone has died.

Shitai and O’lwa....

This is a story of darkest woe. In ancient Japan there lived a vicious husband called Shitai who by his actions, turned his wife into a ghost. His unfortunate wife’s name was O'lwa and he murdered her because he desired another woman. His wife had barely risen from child birth when her deceitful husband Shitai poisoned which caused her hair to fall out in bloody handfuls, her eyes to bulge from their sockets and her pretty mouth to blacken. With certain death overcoming her she realized to her utter horror that her husband had poisoned her. In her dispair, she killed her newborn and herself.

Shitai felt no remorse, for now he could do as he wished, or so he thought. He soon found that his dirty deed had a terrifying price.

With a ghoul's fury, O'lwa appeared to him everywhere as a furious spirit.

Everything he looked at assumed the staring ghostly face of O'lwa mouthing curses at the deceitful geezer. If he walked in the garden he would find her there wailing over the lifeless body of their child.

Her bitter accusations sounded ceaselessly in his ears.

Defiant and undeterred, Shitai married his young mistress thinking that O'lwa would realize the futility of further hauntings.

On the day of his wedding, he lifted his lover’s bridal veil only to find O'lwa's ghostly image looking back at him in ghoulish disgust.

Instantly, Shitai drew his sword and beheaded the terrifying spectre. Silence fell on the gathering as to everyones total dismay he had murdered his bride, not the ghost.

the ghostly violin....

In Houston, Texas there was a security guard, janitor, or some other poor guy who worked the night shift in the public library.

He was apparently well-liked by everyone who used the facility and was made unusual by the fact that he played the violin, loved to do so with an unending passion and often engaged in his musical persuit during his down time, much to the delight of all who heard him.

When the good fellow eventually died, apparently of natural causes, it was (and may still be) reported that his violin could still be heard around the library during the quiet of the evening.

scary children stories

Disguised Child....

A small child was abducted at Disneyworld. The distraught parents are taken to a surveillance room filled with monitors to look for the child. Almost at the point of giving up, the mother reconizes the childs shoes when a strange woman attempts to leave the park. The reason the shoes were all that were recognized is the childs hair had been cut and dyed, and she'd been dressed as a little boy.

Fallen Baby....

In the town of Wentzeville, MO. it is said that in the early 1800's a young mother rode her horse into town with her infant son in a sling on her back. She stayed to late in town and it was past dark when she set out to return home.

As she made her way home, the sky clouded over and she could hear distant thunder as a storm approached. The road was very dark without the moonlight and she began to notice rustling noises coming from the darkness all around her. The girl began to look over her shoulder in panic as she became more and more aware of how alone she was. As the chills crawled up her spine, she hoped that the child wouldn't sense her fear.

Suddenly she heard a scream only a few feet from her horse. She became so frightened that she spurred her horse into a fast run. As the horse fled, all the jarring caused the baby to be thrown from her back. The young woman was so horrified she couldn't think, she urged the horse faster and faster away from the sound, further and further away from the child.

Later the mother returned, sick with guilt, to search for the fallen baby. Though the storm had passed, the moonlight revealed no clues to the young woman. Her child had disappeared in the night.

To this day they say if you stop on this lonely stretch of road just before a storm you can hear a loud scream, then the sound of horses hooves, and then a baby crying.

Baby in the Chair....

A young couple were waiting impatiently to leave on their first vacation since the baby was born but the woman's aunt, who would be babysitting was thirty minutes late. The young woman called her elderly aunt to find out what was going on, and the old woman apologized for her forgetfulness, and said she'd speed right over.

Since the aunt was only a couple miles away, the couple decided they'd go ahead and go rather than wait for her and risk missing their flight.

Two weeks later when the couple returned they were horrified to find the baby still in it's high-chair where they'd left it, except now it was dead and bloated, and covered with flies. The aunt really had sped, and unfortunatly crashed and died before she made it over.

Thump, Thump, Drag....

Ashley, a 16 year old girl, was babysitting 2 little boys. Their parents weren't supposed to come home until very late, so she put them to bed and sat downstairs in the living room to watch some TV. She was flipping channels and came to the evening news. The Anchor-woman reported a warning for her area. She said that a mental patient had escaped from a nearby facility and was on the run from the local athorities. Ashley flipped the channel again to find an old movie she hadn't seen in a while, but always enjoyed. By the end of the film, she had forgotten about the news report.

Upstairs one of the boys woke up. He thought he heard a noise coming from the hallway. Thump, thump, draaaag....

The child thought that Ashley must be watching TV, the sound must have been from the program she was watching.

The boy heard the sound again and woke his brother. Together, they listened at the door to the bedroom and the sound kept coming thump, thump, draaaag...thump, thump, drag....

The sound stopped but the boys were still nervous about leaving the saftey of their bedroom. They got back into bed and stayed under the covers until their parents got home.

When their parents came in the house they were struck by a greusome sight. Ashley was laying halfway up the stairs with a trail of blood behind her. Her arms were cut off at the elbows and she'd been climbing the stairs on the bloody stumps of her arms, pulling her badly injured body along to protect the children before she died of blood loss.

Ashley's attacker was never found!

Turkey Baby....

A newlywed couple had their first baby. Because Annie (the mom), was afraid to leave the baby alone with anyone, the once social couple, found themselves spending their nights at home. Finally, when the baby was about 5 months old, Annie's husband Jack decided to hire a babysitter to watch the child while the couple went to a friend's birthday party.

Once the couple had left, the babysitter invited her boyfriend over to Annie and Jack's house to party. He brought her some booze and together they drank liquor and tried LSD, something they had never done before. When Annie called home to check on the baby, the babysitter told her about the pretty colors and the turkey that she was cooking in the oven.

Annie got very upset and went to find her husband so they could rush home and see what was going on. When they got to their house, Jack ran upstairs to get the baby, and Annie stayed with the babysitter to try and make sense of what she had said earlier on the phone. Jack came running down the stairs in a panic asking over an over again "Where's the baby? Where's the baby?" Suddenly, both Jack and Annie smelled something burning. They ran to the kitchen, looked in the oven and found their beautifully burnt baby.

scary bridge storys

Somewhere in Georgia back in the 1800's a poor farmer and his wife were expecting their 5th child. The farmer knew that he and his wife could not provide for this child because crops had been bad that year and he could barely feed his family of six.

When the wife went into labor the farmer called for the doctor. Unknown to the wife, the farmer and the doctor had already made arrangements to get ride of the baby. Their plan was to take the baby from the room immediately after the delivery and tell the wife that the baby died during birth.

When he left the farmhouse that night, the doctor took the baby to a nearby bridge and dropped him over the side. The wife never found out about what the farmer and the doctor had done.

Baby Give Away....

On a lonely road off of Main Street in my hometown you’ll find a bridge with an unfortunate past. A young family lived near this bridge and the husband was away from his wife and child fighting in the war. A neighbor had always held a candle for the young wife and when he discovered that she had had a child and the husband had gone off to war, he became jealous and determined to have her for his own.

He came to her house one night and forced entry into the home. When she refused him, he savagely attacked her and threatened to kill her child. She escaped and ran from her property with the baby, blindly crashing through the forest and brush seeking a hiding place from her obsessed neighbor. Just as she realized she couldn’t hear the man chasing her anymore, she came to the bridge and took refuge under it with the scared baby in her arms.

The distressed child had been whimpering in fear during her flight from the house, but now that they had stopped the baby began to wail. The child began to cry loudly and ended the hope of the bridge being safe refuge. The neighbor was drawn to the baby’s cries and their position was revealed to the man. He brutally murdered both mother and child right there under the bridge.

Only the woman’s body was ever recovered.

Now, if you drive down this bridge and stop half way across, turn off your car engine and headlights and lights and get out, you can hear the baby’s cries that gave it's mother’s position away years ago. Beware! It’s been said that if you go down underneath the bridge at night, you will never be seen again! The spirit of the young mother is trying to protect her baby even in the afterlife.

The Bunny Man Bridge....

After the civil war Fairfax County, Virginia became more populated and eventually an insane asylum was built there. No one wanted to live near the asylum and because of the public outrage the institution was shut down.

The administration transferred the patients and in 1904 the process was completed. During the transfer, some of the patients escaped and hid in the surrounding woods and forest. These individuals were lost, delusional and dangerous. Most of them were found except Marcus Lawster and Douglas Griffen. The local authorities found a trail they believed belonged to them, littered with half eaten mutilated bunnies.

The trail led deep into the woods to a tunnel bridge crossing a wide creek. There they found Marcus hanging from the tunnel entrance. There was a note attached to his foot that said, "You'll never find me no matter how hard you try! Signed, The Bunny Man." That tunnel has been called Bunny Man Bridge ever since.

The legend says that if you walk all the way down the tunnel at around midnight the Bunny Man will grab you and hang you from the entrance of the bridge.

Strange deaths and phenomena has been connected with the Bunny Man Bridge. There was a young man from Clifton, Virginia who came upon the Bridge while traveling. Later, he killed his parents and dragged their bodies into the woods to hang them from the bridge and then killed himself. In 1943, three teenagers, two men and a young woman, were at the bunny man bridge for Halloween night. The three youths were found dead, hung from the bridge with their bodies slashed open. All with notes attached to their feet saying the same thing," You'll never catch the Bunny Man!"

In 2001, after hearing the tale, six local students and a guide searched the area. They found mutilated bunny parts during their search and left the forest after they heard noises and saw figures moving around in the woods

the tale of the hookerman....

Long ago, when the trains were still the main commerce transportation in the state, an accident occurred on the tracks of Budd Lake. Now these tracks, which run through Netcong, Flanders, and Budd Lake, were said to carry coal, and other industrial fuel sources.

One night, while repairing a railroad track, one man had the extreme misfortune of getting his arm, shirt, skin and all, stuck on the tracks. In this hand he held the latern that was helping to light his way.

And although the trains were not supposed to be running at this time of night, one did, and the conductor of this very train did not see the trapped man struggling by the side of the tracks, nor did the conductor see the faint glow of his latern. Within a matter of minutes, but what surely seemed like hours for the trapped man, the train had passed and made its way towards the next town. But with this train went the man's hand and latern.

He died that evening from blood loss and shock, his body found later the next day by town locals. But to the dismay of everyone, his hand, and his latern, were missing. Some say that it was swept up with the force of the train, others say an animal took it as dinner.

But if you stand on the tracks in the middle of the night, close to the time when the unfortunate man lost his hand, you will see a green light hanging above the tracks, bobbing up and down the same stretch of land.

And that green light is no other than the man's latern, being held on to fastly by the man's hand, searching and searching in vain for it's body.

Now, for all intents and purposes, there actually is a green light that seems to "hang" over the tracks in this area - but unscarily enough it is supposedly due to chemical deposits in the soil, either due to pollution or natural mines. But still, the sight of the green light on the tracks in the middle of the night will always recall the tragic tale of the Hookerman.

subway stare....

A woman was sitting on the subway late one night and she noticed that the woman sitting across from her was staring intently at her. She pretended not to notice but each time she glanced at the woman the staring continued.

At one of the stops a new passanger got on and sat next to her. After a couple of minutes he quietly told her he thought she should get off at the next stop. Knowing the next stop was a busy one,
she agreed.

When the next stop came up, she left the train with the man. The man said to her, "Thank God, I didn't mean to scare you but I had to get you off that train, the woman sitting opposite you was dead and the two men either side were propping
her up".

School Bus Tracks....

One day, on their regular route home from school, a school bus full of children was crossing over the railroad tracks on their way to the next stop when something went wrong and the bus stalled straddling the tracks. As the driver struggled to restart the bus, the train alarm signal started to sound and the children saw a speeding locomotive coming quickly toward them. By the time the driver opened the doors and evacuate the children, the train had arrived, and the children’s screams were drowned out by the screaming whistle and brakes of the deadly train. None of the children on the schoolbus survived that horrible accident.

A few years later, a man was driving down the same road and stalled on the tracks, in much the same way as the bus full of children. Again, the driver struggled as the alarm started to sound, the lights began to blink and the guard bars lowered in front and behind the man’s passive car. Just before impact, the driver could feel the train bearing down on him. He ceased to struggle and squeezed his eyes shut, anticipating the explosive collision. Suddenly it was as if time stood still and everything became quiet. He felt his car somehow move and it was as if he was being pushed to safety, guided off the tracks by an unknown force. When he and his car were out of danger from the oncoming train, suddenly sound and time came back to life and the locomotive barreled past him, just inches from the bumper of his vehicle.

To this day if you put your car in neutral on those tracks and sprinkle some baby powder on the back bumper of your car the children from the bus accident will push youyou’re your car to safety off of the railroad tracks where they met their untimely fate. You will see small hand prints in the powder of the ghosts of the poor children who died that day.
